Creatine is one of the most researched supplements in existence — and one of the most misunderstood outside gym culture.

What it is:

Chief Creatine Focus+ is a 100% micronised creatine monohydrate to support cognitive function alongside the well-established physical performance benefits of creatine. Available in a 300g tub, it provides creatine monohydrate — the most extensively studied form.

What it supports:

•       Physical performance during short-duration, high-intensity effort

•       Cognitive function and mental focus

•       Muscle energy resynthesis (creatine’s primary mechanism)

•       Lean muscle maintenance alongside resistance training

Best for:

If you’re strength training, doing high-intensity exercise, or interested in the growing research on creatine and brain health — particularly relevant for women in perimenopause and menopause, where creatine’s role in cognitive and muscle function is receiving increasing clinical attention.

A Foxy recommendation:

Creatine has been on my clinical radar for a while now, especially for women. The research on creatine for cognitive support in midlife is genuinely exciting — and the performance benefits for maintaining strength and muscle mass are well-established. This isn’t just a gym supplement. I’ve chosen the Chief version because it’s a clean formulation which aligns well with what I’m recommending in practice.

If you’re working on strength or thinking about long-term brain and muscle health, this is worth considering.

Pairs well with:

Chief Whey Protein  •  Omega 3 Pure & Wild

Safety note:

Ensure adequate hydration when using creatine. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have kidney concerns, or any other medical condition, consult your healthcare practitioner before use. Not suitable for children.

  • Is creatine just for bodybuilders?

No. Creatine monohydrate is one of the most extensively researched supplements available and the evidence extends well beyond gym performance. Research is growing on creatine’s role in cognitive function, brain health, and muscle maintenance — particularly relevant for women in midlife and beyond.

    What does creatine actually do?

Creatine supports the regeneration of ATP — the body’s primary energy currency — in muscle and brain cells. This supports short-burst physical performance, and is increasingly linked to cognitive energy, focus, and neuroprotective function.

Do I need to load creatine?

A loading phase (higher doses for 5–7 days) can saturate muscle creatine stores faster, but it’s not required. A consistent daily dose of 3–5g achieves the same saturation over 3–4 weeks without the digestive discomfort some people experience with loading. Consistency matters more than loading.

    Is creatine safe for women?

Yes. Creatine monohydrate has an excellent safety profile across the research literature for healthy adults. There is growing research specifically on women and creatine, particularly around hormonal transitions and cognitive health. As with any supplement, consult your practitioner if you have specific health considerations.
